No, the things should appear instantly. And you should never get a 500 error. Both issues may have the same root cause: is your thing public? That can be changed by editing your thing. If that doesn't help, please give me your Flattr ID (or enter it in the "Flattr ID" field when answering this comment) and I'll perform further research. So what's the name of your app? :)

My thing added yesterday isn't shown in the app... Also, i'm using your SDK in one of my own apps and i get a 500 server error in the logs when the flattr button is shown...
